Hello hello friends! Guess who’s back with another income report! Me! It’s been a while… quite a while since the last one actually – two months in fact! – so I’ve decided to combine the previous two months to catch up!

Dare I say it, it was a rather quiet two months on the blog side while I was working on the back-end of the business. Not a whole lot happened, but my business chugged along nicely.

WHY DO I SHARE MY INCOME REPORTS?

I started House of Brazen in January 2016 while still working a day job and by March I was already making my first few sales. I was growing more and more unhappy in my job each day and in june I finally quit my job to work on my business full-time.

I should mention that I did this without having any other financial back-up other than my savings and I wasn’t making a liveable amount from my blog yet. Luckily, taking that risk was the best choice I made because I was able to grow my business fast enough that I now make a full-time living from it.

My favourite thing about running my own business is the freedom you get to do what you want with your time, so I share these income reports because I want to help you grow your business and achieve the same freedom in your life so you can spend more time doing the things you love with the people you love.

Alright, let’s do this! 😀

So what happened during these months?

I TOOK A BREAK FROM MY BUSINESS

After I had finished with the back-end prep, I took most of December off to enjoy with friends and family. My boyfriend Scott came up with the idea of doing 12 dates of Christmas, so the month became one big fun-filled event that I absolutely LOVED. And it helped me to step right back from my business, relax, even forget about it for a while and get caught up with life again. Coincidentally, once I relaxed, new and fresh ideas for my business came flooding in! I think there really is something in taking regular breaks from your work to reset and let inspiration find you once again. This is a habit I’m definitely going to take with me into 2017.

DEALT WITH MY FIRST LOT OF REFUND REQUESTS!!

You know you’re uplevelling when refunds make you excited! I’ve been waiting for this because I wanted to experience what they would be like and what the issues would be. I got a total of 3 refund requests for my How To Make Your First Affiliate Sale in 24 Hours ebook and ALL of the requests were due to the ebook not being delivered after purchase.

After further investigation, I found that two customers had entered their email incorrectly with a letter missing, and one customers email bounced all emails sent from me so I had to send the ebook manually through my personal email! Everything was corrected and sent off and the customers were totally wonderful about it all. It just goes to show, that sometimes errors will happen even when the system is set up perfectly.

INVESTED IN NEW FILMING EQUIPMENT

Something I’ve been wanting to do for years is move from blogging to video, and I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchased a few new exciting toys on Amazon to get started with. I got a webcam, a microphone and a tripod which cost me around $150 altogether. Surprisingly affordable! I’ve said it a few times in previous posts, it’s the little things that help you feel more pro and progress you to the next level in your business. Bootstrapping is fun, but it can hold you back a lot of the time. So sometimes you do have to make the investment, even when it’s uncomfortable or even when you barely have the money, because the feeling it gives you is what will get you to the next level.
