This entrepreneurial journey can be a lonely road a lot of the time. Especially when you’re starting out. And even more if the people in your life aren’t too supportive of your business.
So what’s a lonesome entrepreneur supposed to do to remain sane and social while building their empire?
Active communities buzzing with like-minded people in your industry.
They’re kind of like a forum and mastermind at the same time where you can talk about what’s going on for you in your business, ask for advice, dish out your own expertise, share your work and loads more.
MY 5 FAVOURITE FACEBOOK GROUPS
When I first started getting into facebook groups, I joined EVERY GROUP UNDER THE SUN, because I thought that’s what you did. I soon came to find that it’s way too overwhelming trying to keep up with them all. Especially when most of them are complete pitch-fests.
Now? I spend most of my time in five groups that I absolutely LOVE. Each community helps me and my business in different ways and I absolutely adore the people that I have met through them. Check em out below!
HOUSE OF BRAZEN COMMUNITY
Yup, you guessed it! My very own group that’s dedicated to helping bloggers and online business owners succeed at creating sustainable income from their businesses. In here we’re all about supporting each other. You can use this group to ask for advice, share your feedback and network with other incredible entrepreneurs on the same journey as you. There are also daily features to keep you on track and accountable in achieving your business goals. We tend to channel our inner Olivia Pope a lot too. Gladiators with laptops and all that 😉
THINK CREATIVE COLLECTIVE
Think Creative Collective is my FAVOURITE group of all (aside from the House of Brazen Community, obviously 😉) and it’s for a few reasons. With 2000 members, it’s one of the smallest groups I’m a part of and I love it that way because it’s much more intimate and I feel like I can create more genuine connections with other entrepreneurs easily. With bigger groups you can tend to get lost in the noise of everyone else’s stuff. Emylee and Abagail have done an amazing job to cultivate an energy of nurturing support in this group. They have daily features with different themes each week as well as regular webinar trainings you can sign up for through the group.Join Think Creative Collective
SCREW THE NINE TO FIVE COMMUNITY
This group is for the entrepreneurs who seriously want to wave goodbye to their jobs forever. Josh and Jill Stanton have created a massive community of 10,000 strong who all drive behind the same message, screwing their nine to fives for their own business instead. This community has is insanely helpful and extremely straight up with you. Whether you need help – or when you’re being a dick – they’ll tell it to you straight. The screw community is perfect for someone who wants accountability when they’re trying to make the transition from nine-to-five to self-employed. The people in this group have great advice for when you’re ready to make a move!
Blogging Boost is a fantastic group to network with other bloggers. There’s a nice casual vibe in this group where you feel like you can reach out and connect in a more social environment. It’s the largest group I’m a member of with over 12,000 members and also has daily features that members can participate in.

BLOG + BIZ BFFS
This is a community that’s highly engaged, supportive, collaborative and has grown significantly in only a few short months. One cool thing that Melyssa is known for is pinterest marketing, so there’s lots of help and advice to those who want to learn how to market their blogs through pinterest. Melyssa also has daily features to participate in, and an awesome collaboration thread if you’re looking for JV partners or people to help you out with your content etc.
