Hey Guys! Today we’re going to be talking about why I believe you should start doing video for your business like, yesterday! Actually, like, last month!

So, if you’ve been following me a while you will have seen that I introduced video into my business on House of Brazen back in January 2017. And the reason I did that was I wanted to test out some marketing strategies and see how they impacted my audience. And also, to get over my fear of being seen!

And in the process of doing that, I had such a huge overall improvement in my business that I couldn’t NOT put it down to starting video!

So, the three reasons why you should start doing video…

1. IT GROWS YOUR CONNECTION WITH YOUR AUDIENCE

The second I started doing video it was like me and my audience went from friend-zone/acquaintances to BFFs. It was like all of a sudden, they felt freer to connect with me, to share more with me about themselves.

And I put that down to the fact that it’s a visual aspect. You can only get so far with words. You can’t see a person, you can’t hear them speaking when you’re reading their words so the second that you put a visual aspect in and they get to actually see you and see your personality and see how you talk and how you act; it helps them form trust with you. So, the connection with my audience went way up! I had a ton more comments and responses to my emails.

2. YOU ARE ABLE TO GET IN FRONT OF MORE AUDIENCES

Because when you’re just doing a written blog post you can only promote it in certain places like on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and that’s about it. But once I did video I could then access video platforms like YouTube. So, I host my videos on YouTube and now I am able to access that community of people who are looking for that information on YouTube. And from there I’ve got a tonne of subscribers.

And then I turned my YouTube videos into audio files and uploaded them to SoundCloud and iTunes; and now I have audiences on iTunes and Sound Cloud. 3 Platforms I did not have access to when I was just writing blog posts. Now that’s huge! Huge that you can get in front of new audiences and find where more of your people are hanging out. ‘Cause that’s kinda the point, right?

3. INCOME AND SALES INCREASE

My income, my sales, went up! It’s not a coincidence because the second I started doing video, my sales went way up! And again, I have to put that down to the visual aspect. It’s like once people actually see who you are; they form more of a trust with you. I can’t track it unfortunately, although maybe I should try to.

The second I started doing video my sales increased. Now if that’s not a reason alone of why you should start doing video, I don’t know what the hell will convince you.

But, in saying that, I want to tell you about an interesting thing I discovered when I stopped doing video. So, I was doing video for about 4 to 5 months from the beginning of January and noticed a huge improvement, a huge impact on my business and how people interacted with it. And then a big life change came up and I stopped doing video for a while. And although my sales didn’t decrease, the interaction and connection decreased.

I found that fascinating because even though my audience knows that I have done video in the past it kinda severed that connection a little bit. Which was a real eye opener. Marketing wise, it changed a little bit because I wasn’t putting content up on YouTube, SoundCloud and iTunes, but I was still promoting my written blog posts on the regular social media platforms. Just the interaction part was quite interesting though.
